HOLLY. Here is an original photo that I took at HOLLY Block in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 7 April 1965. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9777 and three more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9777 is an EF-15A constructed in January of 1951. In this context, this A-B-B-A set is entering the Bedford Street Crossing with a 38-car freight train and cabin car #477806. From here, the train will travel on the original right-of-way for the Allegheny Portage Railroad to Duncansville and then climb the Allegheny Mountains via the Muleshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. |
